Objectives Of International Development Conference on Friday 11th of November, 2011
The conference is a gathering for those working in the field of HIV, as well as persons living with HIV and other individuals committed to ending the pandemic. The conference will provide a number of opportunities for healthcare professionals across sub-Saharan Africa to come together and hear about latest developments. It will give each participating country a chance to hear and access where they are, evaluate recent scientific development, social responsibilities, community rehabilitation and lessons learnt and collectively chart a course forward.
The objectives of the conference are to:
• Promote greater understanding of the concept of community development as it relates to HIV awareness, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation.
• Discuss and highlight conceptual and theoretical framework and strategies that under span best practices.
• Explore "what works" showcase innovative HIV/AIDS programmes and promote learning across disciplines and sectors and promote accountability among all stakeholders.
• Develop strategies and plan of action for strengthening and repositioning practices toward meeting the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)6, relating to HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases.
• Provide opportunity for forging new partnerships towards promoting sustainable development.
• Meeting potential international finders and partners.
