Life Changers Foundation is dedicated to promoting and releasing human potentials by means of empowering people in the fight against poverty. Life Changers Awards demonstrates the role organizations and individuals have played towards community development and poverty alleviation.

Life Changers Foundation echoes the value and prominence of people who have made positive impacts and contribution in their community and country as a whole. Life Changers Awards encourages and rewards individuals / organizations that display active participation to poverty alleviation. We aim to recognize individuals that have put thought; time and effort into helping people release and realize their potentials.

Life Changers Awards will showcase the very best of what an individual has done for his/ her community.

The nominations for the 2012 Awards are now open and the closes on the 30th of June 2012.

Awards Criteria

1. Outstanding Achievement Award: This award recognizes individuals, or groups who have in spite of all challenges faced made an exceptional contribution either in volunteering capacity, through excellence in their professionalism or just running an outstanding project within the community.

2. Best Development & Initiative Award: Individuals or organizations that can demonstrate a positive and tangible impact on improving the living environment and development of people particularly the poor and disadvantaged.

3. Best Replicable Project Award: The award will go to the project that is replicable and scalable.

4. Lifetime Achievement Award: The award honours individuals who have made significant lifetime achievements within their communities. Award nominees can be from various works of life.

5. Civic Leader Award: This award is for a public official, public figure, or corporate leader in the national arena who has provided sustained and effective leadership to improve the plight of disadvantaged people and shaped policies that affect services and needs.

6. Exemplary Business Award: This Award is for persons and businesses in our community who exhibit outstanding ethical practices. Individuals or businesses who adheres to the high ethical standards of honesty, integrity, and consistency in dealing with employees, contractors, and customers, while positively enhancing the economic well-being of the firm's stakeholders providing jobs, opportunity, and profits.

7. International Achievement Award: Individuals or organizations that have made significant contributions to international development especially in Africa. These could be charities with major international project impacting policies and changing lives.

8. Young Entrepreneur Award: This Award is for young people between the ages of 18-35; they must be either in employment, self employed or just running a community service project.

9. Personality of the Year: recognizing the contributions of individuals - established names, new thinkers and rising stars - across the global that have contributed to the growth of their community.

10. Best Advocacy Campaign of the Year: honour top advocates from across the country - individuals and organizations that have fought hard to promote, influence and change legislative decisions.

11. Corporate community involvement Award: For a company with a major presence in the city, that has shown remarkable profitability and stability, and which exemplifies excellent corporate citizenship in giving back to the communities in which it operates and in a corporate culture that enhances the lives of its employees

12. Best practice Award: Organization that can show Evidence of Sustained Excellence, Innovation, Impact, Cost Effectiveness and Efficiency and Transferability.

13. Young Male Achievement Award: This award recognizes progression and/or significant achievement made by a young male

14. Young Female Achievement Award: This award recognizes progression and/or significant achievement made by a young female.

15. Arts and Culture Champion Award: Recognizing exemplary support, promotion, financial generosity, and individual volunteerism for arts and culture in our community.

16. Rising Star: Rising Star Award is presented to recognize individuals who show exceptional promise of leadership and contribution in their chosen profession.
